The Comprehensive Center for Perioperative Medicine (CCPM) is an interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaborative platform of the Medical University of Vienna and Vienna General Hospital (AKH Vienna). It brings together the expertise of all university clinics and departments involved in surgical, interventional, and anesthesiological care. In addition, all diagnostic and therapeutic-interventional disciplines, as well as nursing and operating room management, are actively involved in the collaboration.
The Center’s overarching objective is the continuous optimization, standardization, and advancement of perioperative and periprocedural diagnostic and treatment processes. Particular emphasis is placed on leveraging synergies through interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration, while improving patient safety and the quality of clinical outcomes.
